Here are some answered questions about IchiLuma I thought I'd include to better explain the ship.
How old are Ichimatsu and Luma?
At the start of their relationship, Ichimatsu was 25 and Luma was 29. They are 4 years apart in age. As of late 2025, Ichi is 32 and Luma is 36.
Is this Ichimatsu from the show, Osomatsu-san?
Uhh yes and no! What I mean by that is, I don't consider this Ichimatsu the same canon Ichimatsu from the show. Luma arrives to Akatsuka Ward around the time season 2 events were going on, and after that, different events wouldn't be the same if she was there. (this was inspired by the fact that I became a fan of the series around the time season 2 was still airing.) The best way to put it is that I consider this an AU (alternate universe), so this Ichimatsu is an AU one. He's pretty much Ichimatsu in terms of personality and background though.
How did they meet?
Their first meeting was pretty uneventful, Luma came to visit Jyushimatsu and hang out with him. Jyushi told Ichi to join him. The two exchanged awkward greetings and then spent the rest of the day enjoying Jyushimatsu's company while not knowing what to say to each other when they were left alone. As time goes on, Luma noticed Ichimatsu more because he'd be a little more expressive around Jyushimatsu and she started to enjoy having him around. After that, she gained a crush on him, eventually confessed to him, and that is how the ship started.
How long have they been together? Are they still together?
Yup they are still together and married. Story: They met around 2019, but didn't start to go out until around 2020(?) There were issues with staying together because Luma initially only planned to stay a few months in Japan, but her confession and then mutual connection with Ichimatsu kind of altered those plans a lot. When her rent contract was up, she left to America expecting she wouldn't be able to return at all.
Eventually, she is able to find a way to come back permanently around 2022. The two continued dating until Christmas that same year when Ichimatsu proposed to her. The two were married on January 3rd, 2023 and have been together since then. (also they got 2 cats in 2024, Teri-chan and Neri-chan)
Do they have jobs? Where do they live?
They both have jobs and live together in the same apartment in Akatsuka Ward that Luma first rented when she came to Japan. Ichimatsu works as a busboy in a ramen shop in town and Luma works doing freelance art, but also has a job at [classified].
